Production Diaries, 26th February -1st March

 Monday,

Nice and rested after the week off, ready to take on the week. We were presented with an interesting challenge today were we had to add an create a scene that links in with one of our shows, either teachers, shout or stuff. Since I am in stuff we got the cast together to make up a scene that fit in the play. We got creative with it and decided to fit a scene directly before the beginning so all the cast members could be in it. The scene went like this, it starts off with everyone arriving at the hall, getting set up for the surprise birthday. It showed all the characters chemistry together and we even included a scene with Vinnie calling AJ who was sat in the audience who then had an argument with his sister who is sat with him. The scene was very clever and it set out the play. We are even going to include it while the audience comes in because it works so well.

brainstorming:

Tuesdays,
As the year twos are going through UNI auditions at the moment, us year 1s have been shown today, how to approach a monologue, how to deliver one and how to find the right one for yourself. These are very early preparations for auditions that can be used for auditions not even related to UNI. Very helpful stuff which will help us in the long run.

Wednesday,
Today we carried on with Shout rehearsals, focusing on the mean girls and freaks and geeks. This gave me and Keiran time to develop our characters, Darwin and Billy. We have decided we are obviously friends but where can we take them, what's their background? why are they friends? Apart from that, the day was spent rehearsing "stuff" as well, more blocking and learning lines.

Friday,
Today we had an exiting opportunity presented to us. After a writer/director went to see snowdrop (a play we performed outside of collage) he wanted to host a workshop for us at collage. so in our spare time we attended his workshop. We did some really fun warmups, pretended to be animals and made a little performance each. Everyone had loads of fun and tested a few new skills, he invited all of us to come watch his new show into the jungle which sounds interesting, I'm looking forward to it.
