Production diaries, 18th - 21st March

 Monday,

We started of the week with a student led warm up that as related to there character in shout for the oncoming assignment. It was based around football as there characters in shout are based around that sporty type characters. On the run up to the show day, the 21st of march. This is the first time doing a show in collage. So today we took a little tour of the space in the theatre, mostly the wing space, what to do and what not to do just getting familiar with the wing space really as its very much different to the Arc and the Globe theatre. Apart from that we did a full run through of shout, smoothing out transitions mostly as that's something the national theatre like to look out for. The professionalism could of been better in the rehearsals but we tried another rehearsal again and it was miles better, much more focus.

Tuesday,

We continued on with rehearsal's today, I feel like mine and Keirans characters are now fully fleshed out and they work well to build the environment, same with everyone else's character, we are all working so well to create a living breathing world.

Wednesday,

Today we went through a full run through again, more of a "tech run" where we figure out the lighting and cues. Today we have fully settled into the theatre space. We are familiarise with the space and the wing space. We are all feeling confident for the show tomorrow. Today I also did some work outside collage, i was in a music video as they needed some actors to help out I got tied up in a chair it was quite interesting.

Thursday,

Show day today, it went so well. The audience loved it and so did the person from the national theatre (I will get to that in a moment). The show was booming with character, everyone did so well with characterisation and staying in the moment. Everyone had a part to play backstage and out on the stage and we worked together without any drama. I loved building the world using my part and even helping out where I can. I quickly took over someone else's part as they were unable to do it. I quickly had to adapt without any rehearsals in that particular scene. The feedback we got was out of this world, the person from the national theatre absolutely adored it and she enjoyed it just was much as we did preforming it.
