Production diaries, 16th-19th October

 Monday,

With our globe tour approaching fast we got stuck straight in to how it will all play out. We used the theatre to try out together a full run through but most importantly to try out an ending to the tour. We all brainstormed and worked as a team to come up with a performance for the ending that was tense, interactive and most of all a climax for the tour. We did a read through to get out lines fresh in our head and then put together a piece. This whole day was a lesson in patience and experimentation which are useful in the world of acting, especially patience. it also all allowed us to watch and learn, to understand the piece we are putting together and offering us a good look on our hard work. Aswell as this, we continue on with our lonely hearts where I used a photo of Richard gear as a reference for my characters physical appearance. We then pretended  (while staying in character) that we had all attended an annual lonely hearts meet up. This all was pure improvisation and how we as actors should develop an understanding of our characters.

Here is a photo of Richard Gere that I used for my character:

Tuesday,

Today we put the final pieces together to finish off the end of our tour guide. We figured out where everyone should go, what our characterisation should play out and how to give the audience the biggest fright possible. The rehearsals are going well and I would say is definitely making me and others more confident. We then moved onto Peter Pan. We went through the different types of auditions to prepare us. Acting, singing and physical are all separate auditions that we need to prep for, this gives us a big taste in how a real audition would go down in the world of acting which is also a preparation for us.

Wednesday,

A full run though of the whole tour today to iron out any issues or to add any new ideas. With a fake audience we guided them round to all the performances where they could gather tips and so see if anything needs changing. After this i went to play an extra in one of the film and TVs music videos. A very interesting sight into how film all works, it was very useful and interesting to be apart of it. As well as this I have been chosen to play the role of a lifetime on Friday for another music video, a dirty tramp who is to constantly harass an airline hostess. I am much looking forward to this.

Thursday,

Today we did a full run though of the primary school tour guide where there are some tweaks and changes and a whole new set of tour guides. But still runs off the same blue prints, everything seems to be all coming together and we are ready to rehearse at the globe.

Friday,

Cheeky little Friday update, today I did the music video for film and TV where I play a drunken tramp on an airplane who harasses the airline hostess, is sick in a women’s handbag and is constantly looking for booze on the plane. This as you can imagine, was a very exciting character to play and I did have a lot of fun. It showed my techniques and what to expect on a real film set.
